Washington DC's Studio Theatre Triumphs with NEW ELECTRIC BALLROOM ...

The final performance of the new electric ball at the Studio Theatre in Washington, DC, was exactly what I am wishing every theater will be an experience: cathartic for audience and performers as elegantly made, simply designed, and beautifully executed. To call any one to interpret the excellence would do a disservice both to the rest of the cast and the overall nature of the piece.

Lights go down and intimate space, and we find Clara (Nancy Robinette), noting in a chair on his hands and feet narrower, while Breda (Sybil Lines) against the far wall ranting about the nature of people to talk , at the insistence of their younger sister Ada (Jennifer Mendenhall). We soon discover these three live their lives much more in this way, every day the same thing, telling the story of the day the two elderly sisters have lost faith in love and the world. The story serves as a warning to Ada does not trust men in the world.

Enter Patsy (Liam Craig), the lonely fishmonger who just a day to deliver fish and gossip from the outside, and aspires to be invited to enter warnings sad past and the use of routine set aside for the chance of release, as Patsy and Ada may be able to find love together.

To go to the theater is to live a moment that is both unique and repeated. The actors must be able to experience all the night, moments, as if for the first time before an audience, and we will in the eternal hope of seeing something that night that will never be seen and never been seen before.The characters experience BALLROOM that hope even, yet the knowledge that it will not change that today will be like yesterday.

Spaces Studio Theatre is still the strength of the privacy of actor and audience, with the room is smaller than most of the proscenium stage. The New Electric Ballroom embrace privacy and takes its audience along a short (90 minutes) to a life that fills in that single day.

The New Electric Ballroom with Mr Marshall GarrettGarrett is the Director of Production Milburn Stone Theatre in the North East, MD, and a resident director and stage manager at the MST, in addition to freelance. Marshall also headed to Washington, DC, for artists ... Capital Fringe internment and, in Bloomington, IL for Illinois Wesleyan University (School of Theatre Arts, Office of Residential Life) and the Phoenix Theatre.Marshall is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University with a BA in Theatre and a minor in English, and worked at Olney Theatre Center as a management trainee casting / production, and later as a partner in development, and the director of Phoenix Theatre.
