Weaver wants more Alien adventures

Sigourney Weaver believes there is still derived their story of the saga Alien.

But the Hollywood star, who is still known for her role as a woman of action as Ripley in Ridley Scott's films, says she is too old to reprise the role.

"I wish to make one last story, where we return to the planet, where the history of Ripley is resolved. But I feel like history is incomplete, "said the 61-year Moviefone.

"I doubt simply because the way the industry is ... Once you're 60, you will not be starring in an action movie. I think it's a shame that it does. I could definitely kick that alien's a** again. [Ripley]'s a smart hero, it's the way she thinks."

Far from hanging up her action hat, Sigourney next stars in action thriller Abduction alongside Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner and Jason Isaacs - and revealed she isn't too worried about never revisiting the Alien territory again.

"I love the way the story has evolved, that every few years there's another voyage into that universe with another wonderful young director. And certainly I'm blessed with lots of different wonderful jobs, so I'm not sitting at home ruminating about all of that," she continued.

"If I was really caught up in it, I would find a logical story and try to get them behind it, but she may just be left circling earth.

Scott also recently told Empire magazine, “It's set in 2085, about 30 years before Sigourney [Weaver's character Ellen Ripley]… It's fundamentally about going out to find out 'Who the hell was that Space Jockey?'” That's the giant creature with the

Planet Earth premieres tonight on Discovery

Besides the fact that it looks beautiful, the story behind it is almost as impressive. The miniseries took five years to make and photographers put their lives on the line more than once to document the extreme living conditions on this planet.

Tonight, three episodes premiere. The first is "Pole to Pole", which follows herds of animals as they use the sun to find water. Episode two is "Mountains", featuring lots of aerial photography that takes us up and down some of the planet's most dramatic peaks. Episode three is "Deep Ocean", which is pretty much self-explanatory, isn't it? Meghan

Planet Earth is poo without David Attenborough! I was living in England for a year and I watched every Planet Earth episode there was. Then I come back to the US and excited to show my family what an awesome show it is......until I hear a boring woman's voice narrating instead. It is like night and day! Change back to Sir David. He def makes Planet Earth come to life! Big difference! Boo on the people who decided S.Weaver should be the voice. They need to be fired!

Sigourney Weaver is a wonderful narrator! One doesn't need to have a British accent to sound cultured and interesting.Let me add that I was privileged to attend a premier of "Caves" tonight at the 2007 conference EcoVision in Washington and the opportunity to meet Discovery Channel, executive producer Maureen Lemire, a professional beautifully laid and intelligent. If you do not already have an HDTV, here's your best reason to buy one. Sit down and celebrate the planet Earth!

Doug Urquilla I prefer Sigourney Weaver as a narrative voice for Planet Earth over Oprah's "I'm a billionaire who just won't go away" voice for Life.

Bobby Mullen Sigourney Weaver almost makes Planet Earth unwatchable. Almost.

Stephanie Herndon Aw yeah - planet earth minimarathon. Sigourney Weaver, your voice is so soothing, but David Attenborough would be even better.
