I think the most important thing we can learn from these new series is that all gay people work in beauty shops and perform techno music.
Seriously, though, it would be nice to eventually see reality television evolve to the point where homosexuality isn't treated as a novelty. I would suggest there are plenty of interesting gay people out there who aren't working in beauty shops or writing crappy dance songs . Of course, if that's your thing, it doesn't matter if you're gay or not, but the concept does play off certain stereotypes, and I don't think that bodes well.
