Traffic Alert: Demolition to impact Albany rush hour
ALBANY -- A partial building collapse in Albany is expected to impact rush hour traffic this evening.
According to police, several floors and a rear wall at 339 Clinton Avenue collapsed earlier this morning. It has since been ruled unsafe and will be torn down later this afternoon.
Traffic in all directions at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Henry Johnson Blvd are backed up as crews prepare for the demolition.
Currently single lanes in each direction are open on Henry Johnson Boulevard and Clinton Avenue. Once demolition begins around 4 p.m., Henry Johnson between Clinton Avenue and First Street will be closed to all traffic for several hours.
It has not been determined if Clinton Avenue between Henry Johnson and Lark Street will be closed to all traffic.
